NEED FOR SPEED: HANS KLOK IS ‘THE WORLD’S FASTEST MAGICIAN’ IN NEW SHOW

BestOfVegas

When it comes to magic acts, the set-up is usually 90 percent of the illusion. Describe the trick, set up the props, lay on a little distraction and then…”ta-da!”. Not so with Hans Klok: The World’s Fastest Magician. Now performing six nights a week (with matinees on select dates), the latest production at Excalibur is a breakneck theatrical experience that will leave you slack-jawed and gasping in wonder.

76751587_1477520869064245_6118556490862166016_n.jpg

Longtime Vegas visitors may remember Klok’s large-scale 2007 production “The Beauty of Magic” at Planet Hollywood. Accompanied by glamorous Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson, Klok turned Vegas magic shows inside out by combining vintage theatrical flamboyance with a hip, cutting-edge performance style (think Siegfried and Roy meet Criss Angel). The show drew attention from A-list celebrities like Sylvester Stallone and Amy Winehouse, along with former America’s Got Talent judge (and Anderson’s Baywatch co-star) David Hasselhoff.

In the ensuing twelve years, the Holland native has cemented his status as the “Dutch David Copperfield”. He’s toured throughout Europe, received numerous awards, appeared on countless television programs and was inducted into the “Inner Circle” of the British Golden Circle Magic Organization. In addition, Klok set a world illusion speed record in 2012 which he subsequently topped the following year. Now he’s returned to Vegas with a new collection of spectacular mind-benders.

75308003_1458202814329384_478808387291709440_n

To describe any of Klok’s many sequences would spoil the fun. But “fun” is indeed the operative word here. The production is mostly light-hearted, family-friendly and filled with music and memorable costumes. A sexy cast of male and female dancers….

HUMAN NATURE’S LATEST SHOW FEATURES ‘MOTOWN AND MORE’

BestOfVegas

Relive the best songs of all time at “Human Nature Sings Motown and More”, Venetian‘s new show from chart-topping Australia’s Human Nature. Packed with amazing harmonies, precision choreography, live musicians and a stunning setlist, the group’s latest Vegas show will have you humming all night and dancing in the aisles.

HumanNature2

“Motown and More” is a nonstop cavalcade of hits, presented in a smooth sexy style that only Human Nature can deliver. After a joyous romp through the decades in the show “JUKEBOX”, the latest production revisits the Motown setlist that harkens back to their Vegas premiere. Debuting ten years ago at Imperial Palace with “Smokey Robinson presents HUMAN NATURE: The Ultimate Celebration of the Motown Sound”, the boys are excited to once again celebrate the songs that made them Sin City stars.

HumanNatureBanner

Motown is marking its 60th anniversary this year, so the latest refresh of Human Nature’s setlist was a brilliant decision. Currently celebrating three decades together, the group was presented with the Medal of the Order of Australia in May. Earlier this year they hit the 2,000 performance mark of their Vegas residency and this month the quartet will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in Sydney. The Venetian has also extended their residency through 2022. So 2019 has indeed been packed with landmark achievements.

HumanNature4

Many Stateside fans are unaware that members Phil Burton, Toby Allen and brothers Mike and Andrew Tierney originally rose to fame in their homeland as a 90’s boyband. Yes, Motown singers that were the down-under equivalent to N’Sync and Backstreet Boys. But even before that, Human Nature formed as a school-age doo-wop group. And it’s that kind of feel-good music that they’re circling back to once more.

HumanNature3.jpg

And why shouldn’t they? After all, Human Nature boasts a stellar endorsement from mentor (and Motown legend) Smokey Robinson. And no matter what musical genre fills up your favorite playlist, chances are that you know the lyrics to “Stop! In The Name of Love”, “My Girl” and “I’ll Be There”. Those classics and many more from the “Motown sound” have made an indelible impression on our culture. And they continue to raise our spirits and lift us to our feet.

HumanNature1

Along with the Motown songbook, guests can expect excursions into other periods with hits from the likes of…

HOT GUYS OF VEGAS: New Boys In Town

Two new adult productions have brought an avalanche of fresh hunks to Sin City…

You may have seen my recent reviews on Spielgelworld’s ATOMIC SALOON SHOW at Venetian and BLANC DE BLANC at Sahara. Both productions are excellent and packed with amazing acrobatics, saucy wit and moments of lunacy. They’re also dripping with stripped-down musclemen who push the edge of titillation with their hot bodies and physical feats.

Let’s get cozy with a few of these boys and find out what they do to make our pulses soar. And we’ll start off with….

THE MEN OF SAHARA’S ‘BLANC DE BLANC’

BlancDeBlancHotGuys1

Gregory Romeo aka “Monsieur Romeo” – model/performer

GregoryRomeo2

Where you’ve seen him – Host of Blanc de Blanc, Armani ads

“Debonair” is the perfect word to describe Gregory Romeo. That’s the impression he slathered on me upon meeting at Sahara’s Blanc de Blanc Theater. Dripping with sensuality and purring “hello” in a delicious French greeting, Romeo strolled from table to table to welcome each guest. I barely allowed him to leave.

GregoryRomeo5.jpg

Clad in a striking tuxedo and clutching an ever-present flute of champagne, Monsieur Romeo (as he’s known in performance mode) made hearts flutter every moment he was on the stage. Things got even more intense when he stripped off his formal wear and slid into a bubbling jacuzzi for the show’s outrageous finale. Talk about popping your cork!

GregorRomeo4

Every facet of Monsieur Romeo oozes a delicious mixture of silliness and sensuality. Born in France and raised throughout Europe, this man of the arts finds joy in pushing social and cultural boundaries. An artist with a formal education in graphic design, Romeo mixes architecture, eroticism and fashion into his own signature style.

GregoryRomeo1

We can all learn from Romeo’s freedom of expression. Confident in his sexual appeal minus the ego, he uses his great looks, stunning physique and outrageous sense of humor to capture your attention. And once you take a look, you’re hooked.

GregoryRomeo3

Check out Gregory Romeo’s website to explore his amazing photographic work, both behind of and in front of the cameras. And get your butt to Sahara for Blanc de Blanc. Monsier Romeo is waiting there for you with a glass of bubbly…in a tub full of bubbles.

Noteworthy traits – velvety voice, muscles of granite

Hampus Jansson –  circus performer/model

HampusJannson7

Where you’ve seen him – Blanc de Blanc, Michael Jackson IMMORTAL TOUR

Stockholm’s loss is Sin City’s gain now that Hampus Jansson has arrived. This boyishly-handsome blonde athlete (full name Ulf Hampus Jannson) and his professional/life partner Milena Straczynski are now setting hearts afire in Las Vegas as the passionate aerialist duo of Blanc de Blanc.

HampusJannson6

Hampus has a boyish smile and innocent playfulness that make him wonderfully appealing. His tousled blonde hair and smooth flawless skin form the perfect contrast to a strong, athletic body that was created by endless hours of training and endurance.

HampusJansson1

Spinning through the air while holding his lady love, this muscular Adonis looks perfect on a romance-novel cover. He’s just as comfortable in family-friendly productions like Cirque du Soleil’s VEREKIA, DRALION and Michael Jackson: The IMMORTAL World Tour.

HampusJannson2

Great genetics are part of what makes Hampus an amazing entertainer. Father Ulf-Håkan Jansson came to fame in Sweden as an actor and puppeteer, imparting a love for theatrics to his children. Hampus originally planned on going into acting until the circus bug bit him. Sister Uuve, an award-winning trapeze artist, made her mark on Los Angeles in the cinema-themed IRIS by Cirque du Soleil.

HampusJannson3.png

Jannson came to the States awhile back and settled in nicely to the tropical feel of Miami Beach. Moving to Las Vegas this summer for Blanc de Blanc has been quite a big change. Nevertheless, the young hunk has been having fun, taking in the sights and learning about our partying ways here on the Strip.

HampusCollage (1).jpg

Hampus and Milena pop a cork at premiere of Blanc de Blanc…

With his disciplined lifestyle, a body that ripped and a face so innocent, it’s doubtful that Hampus often indulges in the excesses of Las Vegas. But as official emissaries of the city, it’s our duty to corrupt him. Or at least to try…

HampusJannson4.png

Noteworthy traits – youthful personality, manly physique

Danik Abishev – handstand athlete/acrobat/dancer

DanikAbishev6

Where you’ve seen him – LIMBO, Dubai’s LA PERLE, Circus Royale of Australia

Danik Abishev is truly a global performer. Born into a traditional Russian circus family, Danik began performing at the age of four. As part of the Soviet Union state circuses, he toured China and received the title of Honoured Artists of Russia.

DanikAbishev3.png

The family relocated to Brisbane in Queensland, Australia and Danik continued his worldwide domination of performance arts. After working with hip-hop group Tom Tom Crew in the Middle East and South America, the muscular athlete charmed the people of Oz in Australia’s Got Talent.

DanikAbishev4.png

Then it was off to Dubai’s Al Habtoor City to perform in La Perle, a new show created by Franco Dragone. Vegas audiences know Dragone from the hit shows O and Le Reve, so of course the Sin City bug was eventually bound to bite Abishev in his well-shaped arse, too.

DanikAbishev5

As part of Blanc de Blanc, Danik struts, strips and wows audiences with an inverted handstand act that has the audience gasping, screaming and standing up to applaud. The finale features the diminutive hunk literally soaring over the audience and plunging down to their tables in a mind-bending sway pole climax. Nice of you to drop in, Danik!

DankAbishev1.jpg

Noteworthy traits – short in stature, long on sex appeal

THE MEN OF Spiegelworld’s ‘ATOMIC SALOON SHOW’

20190921_185958

The boys of Blanc de Blanc are pretty open about their identities and bios. At Spiegelworld, not so much. The upstart (and wildly successful) challenger to Cirque du Soleil‘s throne is quite invested in the reality of their characters. They’d have you believe that “The Gazillionaire” of ABSINTHE and OPIUM‘s cast of inter-planetary travelers are genuine people…and that’s part of their unique charm.

Now that ATOMIC SALOON SHOW has opened at Venetian to awesome reviews, Vegas has another collection of wacky “citizens” to welcome. But a little journalistic know-how has uncovered the identities and backgrounds of a few of Boozy Skunkton’s wild-west friends.

Or have I been hoodwinked with some fake bios put out there to throw me off???? It doesn’t matter….fact or fiction, they’re all hot as Hell! So let’s take a closer look at the hunks who hang out at Boozy’s Saloon, shall we?

“The Mayor” (Pavel Stankevych) – handstand athlete

PavelStankevych3

Where you’ve seen him – Mayor in ‘Atomic Saloon Show’ at Venetian

Effective leaders throughout history have been the ones who handle themselves with grace and elegance. As the “Mayor” of Atomic Saloon’s dusty town, Pavel Stankevych does so in spades. With his ability to defy gravity and bend backwards to a frightening degree, you may find yourself wondering if this prime specimen is indeed human. But I assure you…Speigelworld’s latest superlative slab of human flesh is the real deal.

PavelStankevych1.jpg

Musclemania.com reported on Instagram nearly four years ago that Pavel was from the Czech Republic. The illusive hunk stepped in to identify his origins as Ukranian, but perhaps they got the rest of the details right. Who knows?

Czech circus performer Pavel Stankevych has a bodybuilder’s physique with extreme calisthenics skills. The 6’2″, 185 lbs., athlete says he’s considering pursuing natural bodybuilding and competing this season.

PavelStankevych1

Beyond that description, good luck learning more about the ever-shirtless “Mayor”. In a cast stacked to the max with chiseled abs, bulging arms and massive pecs, Pavel still manages to elicit audible gasps from men and women alike.

AtomicSaloonShow_4-1 (1).jpg

When he strips off his formal wear for upside-down feats of balance and strength, even Boozy Skunkton (proprietor of the titular Saloon) can’t help commenting with envy on the size of his bulging chest. No doubt the working girls in Boozy’s upstairs brothel would benefit from His Honor’s amazing flexibility…and the size of his ample bosom as well.

PavelStankevych4

Noteworthy traits – superhero powers, secret identity, giant pecs…

The Abdominal Outlaw (Davide Zongoli) – dancer/aerialist/acrobat

Davide1.png

Where you’ve seen him – ‘Atomic Saloon Show’ at Venetian, Norwegian Cruises

71049397_10158349177618475_4727493888804126720_n

Regular readers of this column know that I also freelance for BestOfVegas.com. Jena Pugh, my colleague from that site, had this to say about our next hottie:

The Abdominal Outlaw is the Italian stallion “infamous around the world for hold-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, and for stealing hearts wherever he goes.” Prior to being cast in the ATOMIC SALOON SHOW, the acrobat has been caught performing his jaw-dropping acrobatics in circuses across Europe, as master of the aerial pole, and was a 2018 finalist on Spain’s Got Talent. And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, The Abdominal Outlaw is also a swimwear and underwear model with more than 300,000 Instagram followers. If you follow him, you’ll understand how he got his moniker.

DavideZongoli1

You can read Jena’s full article by clicking HERE. But if you’re the type who prefers to just drool over photos, Davide’s Instagram page is indeed an epic collection of erotic moments frozen in time. Playful, titillating and infused with humor, this handsome devil lets his body do the talking. And oh, what a message it is….

Davide1

Of course, nothing compares to seeing this sensational athlete performing in all of his stripped-down glory. Featured in two solo numbers as well as several ensemble sequences, the Abdominal Outlaw manages to stand out in a cast of amazing characters.

While “The Mayor” is shrouded in secrecy, “Abdominal Outlaw” has been quite forthcoming with the media. In fact, you might find a full-fledged profile of this new Vegas resident in an upcoming column. Stay tuned…

Zongoli2

Noteworthy traits – wild mane of hair, wilder sense of eroticism…

“Blue Jackson the Singing Cowboy” – identity uncertain

68496065_10214278714774217_8129056078261387264_n (1)

There’s a persistent rumor spinning throughout Vegas that “Blue Jackson”, the adorable guitar-toting cowpoke of Atomic Saloon Show, is actually Vegas performer Colin Cahill. The evidence I’ve uncovered seems to suggest otherwise, as Spiegelworld’s social media clearly shows Mr. Jackson at rehearsals for Atomic Saloon Show in Edinburgh, Scotland this past summer.

37014743_10211864757746800_8382530286268710912_n

Mr. Cahill would certainly have no time for nightly performances at Venetian‘s newest hit anyway. He’s already dazzling audiences on a regular basis at charity-driven Mondays Dark and popular Kenny Davidsen’s Bow Tie Cabaret at Tuscany Resort. Cahill’s also known to pinch-hit for singers in Tenors of Rock and The Bronx Wanderers as well as his stint as “Stefan” in ” Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man“.

69881054_10214468403556318_8322660684135399424_n

A seasoned veteran of Sin City entertainment, Cahill has shown off his acting, singing and dancing chops in a variety of productions like Tournament of Kings and the Jeff Timmons-fronted male revue Men of the Strip. So how in the world would this strapping hunk have time to portray a hick with a penchant for naughty lyrics and cornball humor?

71761046_10156734813674422_8337346556004925440_n

Besides all that, Colin quite simply cannot be “Blue Jackson” because that silly feller wears shirts…and our local boy doesn’t. It’s been told that the good-hearted young man who jokingly calls himself “the hairless Bigfoot” once donated all of his shirts to a charity for needy gentlemen…and hasn’t slipped one on since. All the better to see your stunning abs, my dear.

The next time this writer attends Sex Tips, I may have to ask actress MaKenzie Fly to clear up the “Mystery of Blue Jackson”. After all, she’s married to Colin and the couple doesn’t seem to be the type to hang out at dusty old brothels. Then again, this is Vegas, where anything is possible.

55622710_10213411116564804_2462507009396703232_n

Noteworthy traits – innocent grin, bedroom eyes, abs for days….

“Jean Louis” (Jérôme Simard) – aerialist/dance trapeze

JeromeSimard6

Where you’ve seen him – Les Ailes du Desir, École nationale de cirque

Pity poor “Jean-Louis”, the youngest cast member of Atomic Saloon Show. The strapping immigrant came to the wild west with high hopes and big dreams. Alas, he found himself in the thankless position of janitor/handyman/stable boy to “Boozy Skunkton” at her brothel/hotel/saloon.

JeromeSimard5.jpg

Torn between a chaste life and the charms of working girl “Sweet Cheeks”, the handsome lad with curly locks and a French accent gives into his carnal desires and makes plans to run away with his girl. Alas, the only time they can share a moment together is during a romantic aerial straps duo.

Uncovering the personal details of performer Jerome Simard is harder that the whiskey bottles that get smashed over heads during the show’s uproarious climax. After a fair amount of digging I can confirm that Jerome has been a guest instructor at Miami’s prestigious Les Ailes du Desir Circus School, where Blanc de Blanc hunk Hampus Jannson (above) once taught.

JeromeSimard1

Jérôme is also listed as a graduate of Montreal National Circus School and has been affiliated with Zen Arts, a Los Angeles-based talent agency. Although he’s been spotted checking out other Vegas saloons with the Abdominal Outlaw in his free time, Simard’s birthplace and personal life remain a mystery. But his body of work….and shredded physique…may tell you all you need to know about this airborne artist.

ZongoliSimard1

Myself with “Abdominal Outlaw” and “Jean Louis” during Halloween…

Noteworthy traits – shy demeanor, luscious locks, gentle voice…

Breaking news: Roman Mokrenko (below) has joined the cast of Atomic Saloon Show, swinging in the role of “Jean Louis” on select nights. Read about the former aerialist of CELESTIA in my profile article HERE.

‘Sex Tips’ Star Louis D’Aprile Brings On The Steam

Handsome and hunky singer/actor plays “Dan” in the outrageous romp at PARIS Casino-hotel…

You may have seen my past article for BestOfVegas.com regarding cast additions at ‘Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man’. If not, check it out here. But it’s a well-known reality that the only “constant” in Las Vegas is “change”. So not long after publishing, it was time to say farewell to Mark Gregory Melton as lead character “Dan Anderson” and welcome some new blood….and more beefcake.

SexTips1

Mark was great in the role but was ready to return to his singing career.

As my year ends at ‘Sex Tips’, it’s reviews from friends like Sam that keep reminding me of how grateful I am to have had this opportunity and I can’t wait to see what’s next for me here in Vegas! My LAST show at ‘Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man’ here in Vegas is Sunday September 29, 7pm! Would love to see everyone there or before then!

With Mark’s departure, the character of “Dan” was filled by Vegas resident Louis D’Aprile, best known to audiences as “Joey Vitale” in Tony and Tina’s Wedding at Bally’s. The excitement was clear when Louis posted the news on his Facebook page:

Looks like I will be taking over as Dan Anderson in “Sex Tips For Straight Women From a Gay Man” starting September 30th!!! I am beyond honored, excited and thrilled to be headlining this amazing production and can’t be more grateful to all of those involved in the casting process!

Watching my dreams come true before my eyes is truly amazing and I can’t wait to see where my career goes from here! If you need me, I’ll be submerged in my script the next two weeks!!! CHEERS!!!

65293942_10156414436998634_8196440503068131328_n

If you think I was being a little sexist by introducing Louis with the above photo, you’re absolutely correct. His stunning face and steamy chiseled body automatically land him a coveted place in my Hot Guys of Vegas column. But D’Aprile’s talent and accomplishments speak for themselves.

44060652_10156208321237982_3446869610484203520_n

Louis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theater from AMDA. Born and raised in New York City, he’s been bi-coastal for the past decade, taking turns in productions like Rock of Ages and even a music video for RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Violet Chachki.

Here in Sin City, Louis has become a favorite at Mark Shunock’s charity-driven Mondays Dark and at Kenny Davidsen’s Bow Tie Cabaret at Tuscany Resort. And if you’re wondering how he got such a stunning body, he’ll show you as your spinning instructor at The Ride Premium Indoor Cycling.

20767931_10154897217018634_7023612505775453707_n.jpg

Louis joined an impressive list of actors and celebrities in the male lead of the Vegas production of  ‘Sex Tips’. Previous performers include “Queer Eye” star Jai Rodgriguez, Douglas Katch Gray and of course, Mr. Melton. With the stellar inclusion of MaKenzie Fly and George Blick, ‘Sex Tips’ continues to be a must-see.

With all-new chemistry and character nuances. ‘Sex Tips For Straight Women From a Gay Man’ deserves a place at the top of your entertainment list.

Hot Guys of Vegas: Men of Iconic

Sin City’s newest LGBTQ nightclub is packed to the rafters with hunks…

UPDATE – This nightclub has officially closed as of October 2019

IconicStaff2

                                                 Gerry, Adam, Nick and Brad…

When Iconic Nightclub opened its doors this summer, super-hot owner Adam Simmons promised a unique experience with great drinks, superior service and innovative entertainment, all at reasonable prices. Luckily, his well-trained staff is stunning to look at, too. There are dozens of hot ladies and gentlemen at Iconic to cater to your needs, from muscular security guards to sensual go-go dancers.

HotGuysVegas16

Since this column is called Hot Guys of Vegas, the lovely Iconic ladies will have to sit this one out (sorry, girls). But for those of you looking to add a little beefcake to your weekend diet, here are five of my favorite all-meat selections:

NICK HUSIN – VIP Server

HotGuysVegas8.jpg

Stunning Nick came to the United States at the age of 18 to pursue an engineering scholarship. Born and raised on Borneo Island, he shares a hometown and handsome looks with Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding. What they don’t share is Nick’s stunning physique, which is on ample display at Iconic Nightclub.

HotGuysVegas7.jpg

It’s okay to stare at Husin’s amazing chest and abs….he doesn’t mind one bit. It’s fair to say that he’s earned those admiring gazes with countless hours in the gym. He also follows a strict diet that sometimes includes a weakness for luscious cheesecake.

HotGuysVegas2.JPG

This exotic-looking stud holds the distinction of winning Mr. Muscle Beach men’s physique competition in Venice, California. Don’t you wish you could be a medal around his neck…or a trophy at his feet?

HotGuysVegas6

During the daylight hours, Nick flexes his intellectual muscles as a project manager for a software company. When not glued to the keyboard, he’s out in the sunshine with his four-legged pal Skippy, enjoying the rough terrain around the Las Vegas valley.

You can follow Nick Husin on Instagram by clicking HERE.

HotGuysVegas1

Noteworthy traits – flawless skin, sly smile, ability to rip shirts off with ease

Gerry Haro – bar manager/lead bartender

HotGuysVegas13

A smoothly-run bar operation is essential to the success of any nightclub. For guests at Iconic, the responsibility of beverage services falls on the broad shoulders of handsome Gerry Haro. This pinup-worthy pretty-boy is well known to the LGBTQ community and a veritable legend in Vegas gay nightlife.

HotGuysVegas11

It’s tough for a young man to make a name for himself in a city of this magnitude, especially hard when you grew up in a tiny central California town named Farmersville. But even at a young age, Gerry had the charisma, wisdom and looks to turn everything he attempted into gold.

HotGuysVegas12

With a face and body this striking, Gerry is a natural in front of the camera lens. Could a modeling career be around the corner? Only photographer Noel Dahl (whom I wrote about here) knows for sure. HotGuysVegas19

Gerry’s love for the bar atmosphere also fills his days at Palace Station Casino, where he provides cool beverages for pool guests. That must be how he maintains such a nice, even tan. His shirtless shifts at Iconic allow him ample opportunity to display a firm torso enhanced with body art.

HotGuysVegas18.jpg

Speaking of art, Gerry’s got a secret talent that he’s eager to get back into. It’s called “Fire Poi” – a performance art with roots in Māori culture. Combining the swinging of tethered weights with music, dance and the element of fire, this is one unique talent that no doubt raises temperatures…especially when performed by a hottie of this magnitude.

In his free time Gerry’s a bit of a homebody, taking in the occasional movie. His constant companions are a trio of gorgeous canines that form the heart and soul of his home. Can you say “Hot Dog Daddy” three times fast? If not, try “Hot Cookie”.

HotGuysVegas18.png

Get up close and personal with Gerry by following his Instagram page.

Noteworthy traits – gentle soul, rockin’ porn ‘stache

Brad Benson – bartender

HotGuysVegas1.png

In every crowd of smooth pretty-boys, there’s that one burly lumberjack who commands attention without saying a word. Iconic’s “Paul Bunyan” title goes to bartender Brad Benson, a gentle giant of a man.

HotGuysVegas22

Chiseled, furry and rippling with brawn, the L.A. native cuts a striking figure whenever he’s positioned at the front door. You can’t miss Brad when he’s behind the bar, either. You’ll see him upstairs at the second-level AVANT Cocktail Lounge or alongside the main dance floor/performance space, serving libations with a gentle smile and a sexy grind of the hips.

HotGuysVegas23

Being that Brad’s the strong silent type, it was tough to get very much info out of him. I do know that he’s a personal trainer (no surprise) who’s into weight lifting. What’s surprising is that he’s also a fine artist who works on large-scale abstract paintings.

HotGuysVegas2.png

Brad’s other large-scale work of art is his physique, which he proudly shares on his Instagram page. It won’t give you many clues into his personal life, but it certainly uncovers plenty of skin.

Thank goodness Iconic compiled this video of Brad, otherwise his lighthearted antics might remain a complete mystery to the people of Las Vegas:

Noteworthy traits – deep voice, deeper ab cuts

Adam Simmons – business owner/manager

HotGuysVegas3.png

Not many nightclub owners are also card-carrying members of the title of “Sexiest Man Alive”. But DNA Magazine included Iconic founder Adam Simmons in their 2019 salute to club owners due to his stunning hotness.

IconicAdamSimmons

Adam is the ultimate extrovert, sharing his radiant smile and positive attitude with everyone he encounters. His entertainment background on Broadway fuels his desire to make Iconic a haven for acceptance, enjoyment and sexy thrills:

We built ICONIC in part to support the community. Come meet the sexiest, friendliest nightclub staff in all of Vegas! We love to meet new friends and party the night away! ICONIC brings you the best parties all weekend long…consistently great music, atmosphere, phenomenal shows and affordable delicious drinks! Come make some memories, hang with your friends, and enjoy the ride.

HotGuysVegas32

Adam jokes that he gets teased a lot for always being shirtless, but if you had this kind of body, would you want to cover it up? “Yes… that is indeed me…. My shirt collection is lacking!” says the California native.

HotGuysVegas25

You’ll often find Adam strolling through Iconic, making sure everything is running smoothly and all are having a great time. You’ll even spot him on the dance floor with his supportive and equally-hot husband Jason Jones. The two make a dynamic pair…and want you to be a part of the dusk-til-dawn fun at Iconic Nightclub.

HotGuysVegas24

Owner Adam Simmons (right) with husband Jason Jones…

Check out more steamy photos of Adam by heading to his Instagram page.

Noteworthy traits – veiny torso, dance compulsion, allergy to shirts

Honorable Mention – DJ Nick Ayler

HotGuysVegas30

Resident deejay Nick Ayler was featured in a previous edition of this column. You can read about chiseled Nick (and get a closer look at that hot body) by clicking HERE.

Iconic Nightclub is located at 4636 S. Wynn Road, close to Orleans Hotel Casino in the former location of SHARE. Hours are Thursday through Sunday 9pm to 6am. Visit their website for more information or to make table reservations.

‘SEX TIPS’ HEATS UP WITH THE ADDITION OF NEW STARS

There’s something funny going on inside the Anthony Cools Showroom of Paris Hotel…and it’s not just the long-running adult hypnosis show. Now in its third year at the same venue, ‘Sex Tips For Straight Women From A Gay Man’ unleashes naughty, side-splitting humor at a nonstop pace.

SexTipsVegas3

Based on an off-Broadway play that was itself inspired by a self-help book of the same name, ‘Sex Tips’ presents a scenario in which “Robyn”, an uptight and lonely college professional, is suddenly required to host a book club with the unfortunate acronym of RAAME (pronounced “Ram Me”).

SexTipsVegas2

Mark Gregory Melton as “Dan Anderson”…

Nervous but determined to succeed on her first assignment, Robyn follows a tried-and-true (albeit stuffy) method of read-and-discuss. Things immediately derail when Robyn discovers that ‘Sex Tips’ is the title of her forum’s first book. Then flamboyant guest author “Dan” rushes in like a gay force of nature, causing a panic attack for the painfully reserved host.

SexTipsVegas1

Myself with cast members MaKenzie Fly and Shyllon Melatti…

Things get even more complicated when Dan recruits hunky sound technician “Stefan” as his body model to demonstrate various dating and mating techniques. Naturally there’s plenty of sexual tension between Robyn and Stefan, which Dan takes full advantage of in a wide variety of amusing ways.

Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man performs nightly (dark Wednesday). Times vary by day. For adult audiences only.

UV Beach Club – A Pool Party with a Purpose

Unique weekly event offers a safe haven for all…

Have you ever seen the ads for Planet Fitness gyms? They boast a “Judgement-Free Zone” to entice members who don’t normally feel confident inside health clubs. Too bad they contradict that very philosophy with a “Lunk Alarm” that shames those getting too intense with their workouts.

The creators of UV Beach Club promise no such mixed messages. Everyone is welcome to their veritable safe haven under the sun…one that promises frivolity and entertainment, food and drink in a welcoming atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance. Located at the NoMad Pool inside Park MGM Hotel, UV Beach Club is part of JEMAA, winner of Las Vegas Weekly‘s “Best New Pool Party 2019”.

AFAN Black & White Party Lights Up The Joint Once More

Epic fundraiser returns to Hard Rock Hotel this summer…

A lot of party-goers will be pleased to know that AFAN Black & White Party is back to its old stomping grounds for 2019. Last year’s move to Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay probably wasn’t the success that organizers had hoped for. Attendance seemed to be lacking over previous installments and the overpowering heat did nothing to encourage attendees to stick around. Plus, it was a freaking marathon hike to the venue.

Guests fill The Joint for Black & White Party

The Joint concert venue at Hard Rock Hotel, along with a neighboring ballroom space, is perfectly tailored for the combination party/convention/performance/fundraiser event that everyone has come to know and love. There is ample free parking via two garages, providing easy in-and-out for those wearing elaborate costumes. And mercifully, it’s air conditioned!

Guests don over-the-top fashions for Black & White Party.jpg

AFAN stands for Aid for AIDS of Nevada, the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in the state. Founded in 1984, the organization provides direct client service programs, food programs, prevention and education programs and community outreach. Their mission is to do so while promoting dignity and improving the quality of life of the individuals they serve. 100% of the proceeds from this event stay in Southern Nevada.

The Black & White Party, now in its 33rd year, encourages attire in just those two colors, wearing as much as you want or as little as you dare. Expect outrageous fashions, group ensembles and themes galore. The 21+ gathering is decidedly “adult” in nature, so much of the live entertainment will skew in that direction.

Longterm supports Penn & Teller show their support for AFAN.jpg

Emcees Greg Chase and Norma Llyaman have great energy together and are loved by the Vegas LGBTQ community. Announced performers include the casts of both Chippendales and Magic Mike Live, Australian quartet Human Nature, Westgate’s SEXXY, Rio’s WOW – World of Wonder, Little Miss Nasty, Tenors of Rock, Legends in Concert and Celestia. Longtime AFAN supporters Penn and Teller will be on hand as well.

General admission ($35) begins at 9pm on Saturday August 10th. Food will be provided by Pink Taco, Oyster Bar, BonaBatiste, Caked Cupcakes, Dunkin’ Donuts and The Hard Rock Pastry Department. Refreshments of the liquid variety will be poured by Tito’s Vodka, Ambros Banana Whiskey, Malibu, Beefeater, Altos Tequila, and The Long Drink Gin.

Strip entertainers perform at Black & White Party

VIP ticket-holders ($85) will be admitted one hour earlier and gain access to a reception of intimate entertainment, two drink tickets, champagne toast by Moet & Chandon, a complimentary souvenir photo by Most Organic Productions, and “VIP-only” bar access. Extra perks include photo ops and interactive décor from ByDzign, LV Photo, and Balloons with a Twist.

The dance floor should be a swirl of black and white bliss thanks to the music of DJ Axis. Nearby Piranha Nightclub will host the official post-event festivities. And don’t worry about partying too hard. LYFT rideshare service has offered discount round trips to attendees by using promo code “BWPARTY19”, good for 15 percent off two Lux Black Rides.

33rd annual Black & White Party will take place inside The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Casino Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8pm to 1am. Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased at afanlv.org.

ICONIC Rips Off The Roof (and lots of shirts) This Weekend

Highly-anticipated nightclub promises a much-needed boost to the Las Vegas LGBTQ party scene….

UPDATE – This nightclub has officially closed as of October 2019

It’s been a long time since Sin City’s had a major new gay nightclub. Aside from a handful of neighborhood-style bars like The Garage and Flex Cocktail Lounge, the only large-scale nightclub for the LGBTQ crowd has been Piranha Nightclub on Paradise Road (near the airport). But all that is about to change this weekend with the arrival of ICONIC Nightclub.

20190716_210410

ICONIC’s location on S. Wynn Road might prove tricky for the tourist trade, but locals will have no problem rediscovering the once-popular SHARE venue. Plenty of money and energy have come together to make ICONIC live up to its name. Owner and former Broadway performer Adam Simmons has gathered quality talent both behind the scenes and out front to make that happen.

IconicAdamSimmons.jpg

Adam Simmons is working hard to make ‘Iconic’ a hit gay destination…

Simmons published a casting call earlier this year for “smoking hot, super friendly, and amazingly fun performers”. The club will be entertainment-centric with pop-up shows, themed evenings and a monthly fundraiser. Of course, bottle service and VIP tables are available for groups desiring a more elite evening out.

One of the more alluring offerings is an upscale Craft Cocktail Bar that invites intimate conversation and a respite from the pulsing energy below. AVANT After-Hours invites you to party until the sun comes up. The club is able to host private events and gatherings, too.

Locals with Nevada ID are eligible for no-cover entry and several hosts are publishing guest-list access on their social media pages. The club officially opens on Friday July 19th at 9pm.

Iconic Nightclub is located at 4636 S. Wynn Road, close to Orleans Hotel Casino. Hours are Friday through Monday 9pm to 6am. Visit their website for more information or to make table reservations.

Being Gay at a 2019 Male Revue

Guest author Ryan Topping gives us another perspective on a topical subject…

I’ve had a couple of guest authors since the beginning of this site, but this is the first time that someone has written a companion piece to one of my originals. It’s important to note that Mr. Topping is a few generations removed from my own. He’s become an adult in a world where marriage equality and LGBTQ rights are mostly established (despite the current political regime’s attempt to undo them). Growing up in a more progressive culture undoubtedly impacts your point of view. But that doesn’t mean you’re oblivious to what’s come before…and what challenges still remain.

41067519_10217284027558418_4366732183721738240_n

You may recall that a little over a year ago, Sam published this article in which he ranked Vegas male revues from a gay p.o.v. I discovered that article while doing research for my 21st birthday, trying to determine if there were any shows in which I could expect to receive attention. Reading his article was the beginning of a series of events that lead to us actually meeting in person.

Sam’s article was fantastic (and in my opinion will always be his most useful), but I wanted to write one that dealt with the subject matter from a slightly different angle. I’m talking about the personal realities of attending as gay man. Unlike Sam’s article, I’m not intent on discussing each show individually, but instead certain things that apply to all. These matters can be viewed as positive, negative, or somewhere in between depending on the person and situation. So here they are, in no particular order:

You Will Always Be In the Minority

It’s a well-understood fact that gay people are a minority in the world. In daily life this difference isn’t always felt, but that all changes when we go to a male revue. You’ll instantly feel like a minority. I believe that in almost every one I’ve been to, I’ve been able to count the number of gentlemen on one hand.

I’d like to make a comparison for perspective. I’m currently attending nursing school, and out of my class’s forty-six students, I’m one of only seven guys. Even in this female-dominated field, that’s still a higher ratio than at a male revue. The first few times I viewed this a major negative. Despite being a confident gay man, this made me feel less so. Luckily after a few visits, it became a positive and was perceived as something that made me stand out.

You’ll Have a Your Own Private Bathroom

This is an example for a specific show, but I love it so much I had to include it. Both before and after Chippendales you can spend time in the adjacent Flirt Lounge. Only ticket holders can access this lounge so there are at most a few males there. While there are girls constantly coming in and out of the ladies’ room, you’ll have your own private restroom. That makes it a great place to fix your hair, check your teeth and be sure your outfit is just right before meeting the performers.

You’ll Never Be the Primary Focus. It Will Always Be “Ladies Night”

4119

No matter how progressive male revues have become, their focus will always be on the primary clientele…women. It’s impossible not to read or hear the words “Ladies Night Out”, “Girls Night Out”, “Bachelorette Party” or “Bride To Be”. I’ve never seen guys being addressed in either advertising or merchandising.  The host will almost always refer to the audience as “ladies” instead of “ladies and gentlemen” or something gender-neutral.

Handshakes, High-Fives and Hugs: The Dreaded Three

At many shows you can expect to receive handshakes, high fives and maybe a few hugs…but not much else. At Thunder From Down Under that’s all you can expect. While attending Chippendales I’ve had a few experiences that extend beyond this, but the one notable exception is Aussie Heat. Their show was specifically created with inclusive treatment in mind. For guys, this is the one show at which you expect to receive some serious, meaningful attention.

41413789_1112061555637277_6166193274517192704_n

You’ll Feel Grateful To Get What Women Routinely Receive

When women go to a male revue they are able to touch, grab and squeeze whatever they want on a dancer. For men, this is definitely not the case. Every little bit of attention you receive from a measly handshake to a high-five will feel like a privilege you had to earn…not something you have a right to expect. Yet the more often I go, the less it seems obligatory to be grateful for these things. Maybe that’s why I go so often? (ha ha)

You’ll Be Scared to Push the Boundaries

No matter where I am, I’m always concerned about not pushing boundaries. Women don’t have to be conscious of this at all. Most times I let the dancer guide where my hands go. I’m more independent and free at Aussie Heat, but even there I find myself being aware of it.

You Can Almost Forget About Going On Stage

When you’re a guy at Thunder From Down Under, you can forget about an onstage number. With Chippendales the best you can hope for is being roped up by the guys for their cowboy number…and that only lasts about a minute. For Aussie Heat the most I’ve seen is one guy onstage during a performance. The general point here is that you’ll be competing with every other man for that single opportunity, so your chances of participating are consistently very slim.

26168886_928611843982250_5662969901630217817_n

You’ll Get a Special Shout-out

This is another show-specific example but it’s one that means a lot to me so I’m including it. Chippendales recently added a special shout-out at the end for the men in attendance “because it’s all love”. When you have a whole room full of people clapping just because you’re present, that’s empowering.

You Can Share a Name With the Dancers

Full disclosure: I’m partial to this one because it directly applies to me. There are many gender-neutral names out there but the chances of a female audience member sharing a name with one of the performers is slim. It might not seem important but to me it does make a difference.

48172971_1174508189392613_7044281819012792320_n

                               Chippendales dance captain Ryan Kelsey…

I share my name with two of the Chippendales – Ryan Kelsey and Ryan Worley (read Sam’s profile of Mr. Worley here). One of those two may even have even said that I’m one the Ryans in their life. Who wouldn’t want a Chippendale to say that?

48363422_1176003922576373_8276661077589098496_n.jpg

                                                    With Ryan Worley…

They’ll Talk To You Like You’re “One of the Guys”

When interacting with the performers, you’ll probably be referred to as either “buddy” or the Australian equivalent “mate”. You’re more like your one of the guys than an audience member. This makes the conversation feel personable…as though they’re talking with you as a friend.

The guys also seem to open up more to other men. Recently I was expressing regret to one of performers who’d endured an uncomfortable onstage experience at the hands of a rowdy woman. He confided something equally shocking that he did to “get his revenge”. It’s doubtful he would have confided that to another woman but was willing to open up to “one of the guys”.

49459878_10218256777996571_4168987182129741824_n

You Will be Remembered On Your Next Visit

You can imagine that the performers see hundreds of females each week, but at most a handful of male audience members. In practice this means more than likely you will be remembered. My personal example was with Chippendales, I attended the show in September of this year and returned to three months later.

On the first night I went back a few of the dancers remembered me…one even remembered my name. Since it’s one we share I don’t know how much of a factor that was, but it still made me feel great. I returned a few more times throughout my stay and by the end all them knew who I was. It makes you feel special to be remembered.

4124

The acceptance of homosexuals in society has come a long way over the years. When Sam told me that he first saw Chippendales only four years ago, I was in disbelief. Did he really have to wait that far into his life to let loose and be free?

I’m fortunate enough to have been born into a more progressive time and was only twenty for my first experience of this kind. I was also shocked to learn that Sam would always be seated in the back. That has slowly progressed to its current state where men are often right up there in the front rows.

41195640_10217284028278436_8870339194141016064_n

There were many gay men and women who laid the way so I could live in a more accepting culture. I hope that the amount of change and progress during Sam’s lifetime will also take place in mine. Fortunately for the challenges we still collectively face, simple pleasures like attending a male revue still outshine them all.
